Berhala Island as the Village Foundation of Kecamataan Singkep Linga District of Riau Islands Province, its position on the South Island Singkep, located at coordinates 104 024 "20 'E & 0051" 00' latitude, with an area of 10 Km2 and a population of 51 households (including Transmigration Local 2006 .) The distance between the Village Foundation Berhala Island to the Capital District Singkep (Dabo) 25 miles or 2 hours of sailing using Pompong Motor Ship (small boat / fishing) or approximately 35 minutes by Speed Boat 200 PK.

In terms of natural resources is less potential Berhala Island, which stand out are fishing from the sea that surrounds it. Now, the island is in a position Berhala confusion that had resulted in confusion between the Government of the Riau Islands Province with the Government of Jambi Province. To avoid allied community divisions in both the warring province, the urge to be resolved fairly and firmly by the central government (Ministry of Home Affairs and the House of Representatives Commission II) based on the evidence of various aspects behind them. In order to end a protracted dispute that could harm both parties of government and society and Jambi, Riau Islands, the overall analysis of studies from various aspects so in need by the central government as an input that can be justified will be true both of the two relevant provincial government maupiun of society.
